We invite you to dive into the world of poetry as we listen to Ukrainian poems about the war.

Experiencing creativity through the most painful experiences offers a profound understanding of what Ukraine and its brave sons and daughters are enduring.

Poems by poets who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and died in battle or went missing while defending their country will be read by creative members of the Ukrainian community. In English translation, these poems will also be read by New Zealanders who care deeply about Ukraine's fate, as well as soldiers of the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine undergoing rehabilitation in Auckland.

The poet Maria Starozhytska, currently residing in New Zealand, will read poems from her collection "Around the War,"  which reflects on how this war began ten years ago, and will present new poems. For a small donation, you can get a book signed by her at the event.
